The partnership will leverage the Patient360 API and Health Gorilla’s interoperability platform alongside VA’s state-of-the-art Lighthouse initiative to provide veterans and their healthcare providers with a holistic view of health records. health enabling them to quickly and accurately diagnose problems and recommend treatment.

Once a Veteran has authorized access to their health information using a Authentication method they will be able to retrieve their electronic health records at any time through Health Gorilla’s national network which currently encompasses 92% of all health organizations in United States. They will also be able to revoke the privileges they have granted to the application at any time through their account settings on VA.gov.

Veterans with access to their electronic health records will give them the opportunity to improve their understanding of their health concerns and treatment plans, while improving communication between themselves and their physicians.
