STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colorado (CBS4) –Former Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning recently took his family down the Yampa River to Steamboat Springs. And, he was kind enough to pose for a photo with a teenager who works for the outfitter!

16-year-old Elias Christian works at the Tube Shack on Yampa Street. He said he was helping Manning and his family get their hits last weekend and requested a selfie with the retired NFL star.

“Even the pros go with a pro when it comes to tubing in Steamboat Springs,” city officials wrote on Facebook. “This weekend, Peyton Manning called out ‘Yampa, Yampa, Yampa’ instead of ‘Omaha’ when recording with Tube Shack employee Elias.”

“Thank you for respecting the Yampa and going with a commercial operator,” city officials said.

Floating the Yampa River is also a popular activity for rafters, kayakers, and paddleboarders.

It’s nice to see Manning having the chance to relax with his family before two big moments in the spotlight happen in the next few months. He will be inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame on August 8. Next, his Broncos’ Ring of Fame induction ceremony will take place during the Denver game against the Washington soccer team on October 31 at Empower Field in Mile High.

(Also, on the lighter side, we’re happy to see he’s got the chance to take a few moments away from the busy summer camp he did with the Denver Broncos at their team’s headquarters in Englewood.)
