Operation Support Our Troops-America, a Naperville-based nonprofit, has announced its upcoming fundraiser, “Over the Edge.”

According to Executive Director Scott Maxson, “Over the Edge is an exciting way to come together as a community, to raise awareness of our mission, and to raise funds to continue supporting those who sacrifice so much for our freedom. On September 11, Operation Support Our Troops -America, will host this exciting event at the Arista Hotel in Naperville. In partnership with Over the Edge Global, OSOT-America and its attendees will abseil down the side of the hotel to raise funds and raise awareness of our mission.

In addition to the abseiling, there will be food, music, interactive exhibits and in general a day to honor our service members and their families. Proceeds allow Operation Support Our Troops-America to continue to serve more veterans and military families through active duty, veterans and families of the fallen programs.

Those wishing to participate must commit to raising a minimum of $ 1,000 in order to secure their booster seat. There will be incentives to reach higher fundraising milestones. OSOT-America has developed several programs that support active duty military personnel, veterans and their families, including:

• Veterans Assistance Program which provides bridge funding to veterans and their families in need experiencing financial crisis.

• Leap of Faith Program which helps support families of the dead through a three-day “Leap of Faith” Collaborative Mourning Healing Seminar with the Army Gold Knights Parachute Team or Team skydivers of all veterans that offers a growth experience based on a tandem sky. to dive.

• Comfort and care program for deployed troops in danger. They have shipped over £ 2.1million to deployed troops since their inception 18 years ago. They continue to support active-duty military personnel who are deployed to more than 70% of the world’s countries.

• The GI Yoga Program teaches stress relief methods and tools to manage symptoms of PTSD and traumatic brain injury to veterans and their families. All classes are taught by certified yoga teachers. Free for veterans and their families.
