St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina will be holding its annual Turkey Dinner on November 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Ann’s Parish Hall on the 3rdrd Bovina Street. The menu will include turkey and vinaigrette, cream of potatoes and gravy, green beans, homemade bread, cranberry sauce, plate of relish, desserts, tea and coffee priced at $ 12 for adults and $ 6 for children from less than 6 years old. A quilt made by the St. Ann’s Society will be drawn at the dinner.

Seth Ward Baptist Church, 601 E. 24e St., offers a men’s prayer breakfast every second Saturday of the month at 8 a.m.

The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences will host the 2021 KLOVE Christmas concert on December 16 at 7 p.m. Musical artists include CASTING CROWNS, Mac Powell, CAIN, Dante Bowe and Jordan Str. Cyr. Altrua Health-Share and Food for the Hungry will also be there. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church’s Open Heart of Jesus thrift store is reopening after an extended closure due to local COVID-19 activity. It is open every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is located on the campus of the Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart near 28th Street. Customers can pick up free clothes. There is a limit of 10 articles per visit and one visit per month. Masks are mandatory for visitors. COVID-19 regulations apply.

The Jerusalem Community Baptist Church in downtown Hale will now broadcast its Sunday service at 11 a.m. on 106.9 FM KKYN and 94.7 FM KGRW. Those interested can log in to hear The Word.

The Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart offers masses in the parking lot every week. Masses are Saturday at 6.30 p.m. indoors and Sunday at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the parking lot, weather permitting. The services will be broadcast on 100.7 FM. The service at 8 am will be in Spanish. The services are also streamed live on Facebook.

Our Lady of Guadalupe still hosts weekend masses online. The current daily Mass is at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Weekend masses are back to the regular schedule this weekend. Saturday confessions start at 5:00 p.m. Mass at 6:00 p.m. (Spanish). Sunday masses are at 9:00 a.m. (Spanish), 10:30 a.m. (Spanish) and 12:15 p.m. (English).

Lubbock Catholic Charities and the Youth and Family program offer youth skills-building advice through the STAR program. STAR (Services to At Risk Youth) offers short-term services to young people aged 0 to 17 and their families who are facing conflicts at home, problems with school attendance, delinquency or a young person. who runs away from home. STAR services are not intended for families for whom a CPS investigation is open or for young people who have been found to be delinquent by a juvenile court. All services are free of charge. Covenant Health Plainview hosts the Cancer Survivor Prayer Support Group “We Struggle to Live” from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month in Room B. Sessions will include a monthly topic and presenter, as well than a structured segment, leaving time for group sharing. The support group is open to people diagnosed with cancer and anyone affected by their diagnosis. The Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 1504 Houston in Plainview, invites the public to pray at the church from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Friday. Our Lady of Guadalupe offers a soup kitchen in the cafeteria once a month. A soup kitchen coordinator said it was run by the church’s CCD program. He helps the children involved get community service credits. Delivery is available. Soup kitchens are generally offered on the third Saturday of the month. Meals are served from noon to 2:00 pm at 211 W. Seventh Street.

The Plainview Dance Club holds dances at First Christian Church in Plainview once a week. The dances are held Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Third Church on the East Service Road of Interstate 27. Snacks and performances are available for those who wish to join in the dancing and fellowship. It is forbidden to smoke and / or drink. The event is open to everyone. The registration fee is $ 5 for members, $ 7 for non-members, or $ 10 for a one-year membership.

Worship at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Plainview takes place every Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
