Lois Juanita Sturgill, 83, of Crow, WV, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 9:45 a.m.
Mrs Sturgill was predeceased by her father and mother, Walter Whitt and Leola Lawson Whitt Hamm, and her stepfather Earl Hamm; a sister Nancy Shively; and brothers Bob and Jack Whitt. She was born in Tazewell, Virginia.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister.
Ms Sturgill was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Daniels.
Among the survivors left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 63 years, Ronald “Hoppy” Sturgill; the children, Ronnie and his wife Nancy, Allen and his wife Rosie, Linda and her husband Danny, and Jackie and his wife Rhonda; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. A brother Roger Whitt and his wife Dee of Selma, North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Larry Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit family one hour before services on Fridays at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as porters.
