Broncos safety Kareem Jackson joined CBS4 sports presenter Michael Spencer for Xfinity Monday Live this week and was asked about the Broncos’ recent struggles against the Raiders.
(CBS4) –Kareem Jackson said the Broncos experienced “a lack of execution” on the pitch Sunday.
âFor us, it’s just about performing. We got the guys defensively to come out and be part of one of the better groups, but at the end of the day we have to execute. It’s just a lack of execution for us, âJackson said.
âFor me and for everyone, we need to do more. At the moment, what we are doing is not enough.
The Broncos have spoken of looking at themselves in the mirror and evaluating their own play after three straight losses.
âIn my opinion, I’m sure every guy is looking at himself. I look at myself and say, ‘Where can I be better? In what situations can I do more? ‘ It’s about every guy who looks at himself and does more and wants to bring more to the table, âJackson said.
The Broncos travel to Cleveland on Thursday, but will be without starting linebacker Alexander Johnson, who suffered a torn pectoral muscle in Sunday’s loss, and is now out for the remainder of the season. It’s the same injury linebacker Josey Jewell suffered earlier in the season.
âIt’s definitely a huge blow to us,â Jackson said.
âThey (Alexander and Josey) put us in the right settings and obviously they diagnose a lot of things and communicate with the front. I like to call these guys the quarterback of our defense. With him coming out, we have to have a next man mentality.
